Attend a symphony orchestra, opera, or musical with musicians in the pit and submit a 2-3 page report on what you heard and experienced. Try to find a professional or college production. Also, turn in the concert program, ticket stub if you purchased a ticket, and a drawing showing the seating locations of the musicians in the orchestra. The drawing does not need to be at the level of an art project. Comment on the music and performance from the standpoint of a perceptive listener. Name the pieces and what era they were from. This report needs to be turned in a week before final exams. Your Assignment details: Write a 2-3 page report giving a review of the concert you attended. Your review must include the following: What kind of listener were you and why? What pieces were performed? What was the style of each of the pieces performed? What was the instrumentation of the orchestra? Draw out the seating arrangement of the instruments in the orchestra.
