First: Frame your answer using the three following elements of motivation:

1. Initiation - a starting point. Think of this starting point as a reason, a belief, or an event that is responsible for your decision to go to college.
2. Direction - a focusing or narrowing of your motivation. You had to select a major based on your interests, your desires, your strengths, and/or your intended career.
3. Maintenance - persistence. No doubt there have been times when you felt like quitting college or maybe you wondered if you were doing the right thing, but since you are taking this class, you have not quit yet- why?

Second: In a few sentences in your own words, briefly summarize one of the motivation theories presented in this module's material. Share an example of ways that a leader in an organization can use ideas from that theory to help employees succeed in reaching goals at work.
