• Technique is different than light microscopy: fixation, negative staining,

processing, ultra-microtomy (semi and thins), heavy metal staining

• SEM Pemtron PS-230 with an Oxford x-act detector used for

Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS)

Glomeruli stained with PAS (A),

Jones stain (B), immunocytochemistry

(C) antibody for light microscopy, fluorochrome antibody

(D) for fluorescent microscopy and heavy metals

(E) for electron microscopy.
