To accommodate this requirement, I request that each of you prepare a 3-5 page research paper on one of the following topics related to project management (your choice) and submit it to me for your grade — which will be either pass or fail. Alternatively, you can submit a PowerPoint presentation consisting of a minimum of 10 slides—tot counting title or section dividing slides. 
Please submit your work directly to my UD email address (gklanacl@udayton.edu) and not Isidore. In your submitted work, please cite your research references through use of endnotes or footnotes. 
Here are the possible topics (choose one): 
1. Use of Monte Carlo Simulation for project analysis — whether used as part of a technical study or used in quantitative risk analysis. 
2. Use of Dispute Resolution Board as an approach to resolve construction claims. 3. Should a "project exit strategy" be part of the project management philosophy? Meaning that part of the project plan should include strategies on what to do if the project is not viable. 
4. What are the best project management tools for a project manager to have at his/her disposal? 
5. How cultural differences may affect the performance of a team for an international project (and what you can do about this challenge)? 
6. What is the best way to use BIM (building information modelling) with an Owner that has never seen its use? 
7. What is the best way to establish completion milestones for your project that are reasonable and doable? 
8. Another topic of student's choice — must clear it with the instructor before preparing the paper.
