In lines 2-4, it is clear that the persona speaks of the exploration, and the control of rage of anger using various images. For instance, the speaker connotes "in Corners - till a Day, The Owner passed - identified -And carried Me away". The corners image represents a dark place or corridor where the anger lies within the person's life. Therefore, the image used presents the power of anger, and the individual who has as a gun, thus giving the speaker the power in the speaker's body. Perhaps, the rage and anger have the loaded gun that can fire and create fear, amongst others. The stored power lies within the corner, which is within the speaker's personality. The use of the metaphor, "loaded gun" highlights the expounds to the meaning of the poem. That is, there is no meaning to the life of the gun before the owner comes into existence. For instance, the phrase 'carried me away' in line four points to how anger becomes manipulative if left to take control. The speaker alludes to how emotions bring about thoughts and ideas leading to actions that cannot be explained.

Furthermore, the anger is personified to point out decisive actions that anger and rage can create in the persona's thoughts. For example, lines 5 -8 state, 'And now We roam in Sovereign Woods -And Now We hunt the Doe -And every time I speak for Him the Mountains straight reply.' The lines in the poem account for how anger controls the whole body and more significant parts of the mind, thus acting in unison. In the poem, the personification of anger points to the power in one's mind set, and the strong feeling of entitlement.

The poem's meaning is extended to the firm personal conviction that anger and rage give to the persona. The speaker acknowledges that without anger, it is difficult for the persona to act normal. For example, in the lines accounts 'Though I than He - may longer live, He longer must - than I -For I have but the power to kill, Without - the power to die ' The persona acknowledges the might and importance of rage and anger which if he fails to use then he remains vulnerable. The concept of feeling powerful comes in only if the persona can control anger and use it to show might or the anger remains dead in the person's body.

It signifies the fact that human thoughts and personality can be victims of anger, which is a weapon. The irritation can be used to fire at anyone mercilessly, and there is a need to control anger, or else it becomes a part of a person. Hence, the meaning of the poem is the use of anger as a weapon in the speaker's life, representing the real-life undertakings even in society today. That anger and rage still exists within society and certain values and beliefs trigger such events in life. Therefore, the author of the poem gives a preview of how society behaves, and what must be done to avoid such happenings.
