At this time people have various fears, and some are even mysteries to us. However, they ignite a fear within the reader that may run out of control. Also, it may be written based on a true story meant to frighten the reader based on the outcome. The horror genre has various classifications and they include mind-controlling, psychological, teen, paranormal, supernatural, dark fiction, extreme, and hauntings (Masterclass staff). The teen genre is a popular one and it revolves around the lives of teenagers, psychological genre frightens the audience as characters are subjected to mental or emotional torture and keep the audience in suspense of what is likely to happen. The book that is going to be analyzed is called "the Cellar" written by Natasha Preston, and it falls to the teen and the psychological horror genre. The story is full of suspense and victims are subjected to emotional torture unsure of what is likely to happen next. The narrator gives a story of an 18-year-old girl who had a normal life and living happily with her family. The girl is kidnapped, where police find her after five months.

The book "The Cellar, "is about a Junior in secondary school her name is summer she carries on with an ideal existence with her mother, father, sibling, and suitor Lewis. At the point when she's going to leave her home to see a few companions, Lewis inquires as to whether she needs him to escort her since it is late. Summer refuses his request and insists that she could stroll to this spot blindfolded due to all knowledge she has. Lewis has no alternative but to accept, she says bye to everybody and leaves.  On her way home she meets up with her companions the walk is extremely dull, she is around a short way from the spot she sees a man wearing all dark and appears as though he has no face since he is wearing his hood. She disregards it since she is nearly there, she hears a voice say "Hi Lily." She casually turns and says "No, that called Lily." "I go by Summer, I think you have the wrong person, not the one you are looking for."  The man forcefully takes her, where she is put in the truck of the vehicle. At the point when she awakens, she is within an extremely pleasant house that is exceptionally spotless and bright. Everything is put entirely in the ideal place.

She has no clue about what simply occurred and wishes that it is a fantasy, yet there she is welcomed by three different young ladies who go by the names of Violet, Rose, and Poppy. They are friendly, they tell her she has a new name and will be called Lily. At that instance Clover, the kidnapper strolls into the cellar and greets them saying, "Great Morning my excellent blossoms." The kidnapper wanted to have an ideal family so that is the reason he has named them after various types of lovely blossoms. In the past, he has killed and if they defy him, they will be victims as well. Their everyday schedule is to awaken, shower, get dressed, do their hair and make-up, make breakfast, and tidy up. They are restricted from any contact with the rest of the world.

It's been three days that Summer has been absent and the story goes to and fro from Summer conversing with Lewis talking. Lewis and her family have been looking through a constant attempt to think that she is yet so far, they haven't discovered anything. "Lily" isn't cheerful here and needs to get out, after her first week in the cellar she arranges to attempt to get the key for it. She devises a plan with Violet to hit him toward the rear of the head with a container and Lily will get the key once he falls. However, the plan never had a backup and some of the things that were not taken into consideration are what would happen if they hit him in the head and does not fall. The plan is executed and Violet hits clover on the head but he does not fall. rather he gets extremely distraught and pulls out his blade cutting violet solidly in the stomach ("The Cellar By Natasha Preston I Teen Ink"). Violet is killed from the cut directly to the heart, he leaves the body there for the young ladies to perceive what happens when they attempt to outmaneuver him. The following day everybody goes on with their business as though the demise of violet had never occurred however Lily could just consider it. They all do their typical schedules and errands as though everything had returned to ordinary.

It is now Five months and the search continues to no avail.  Lily is still in this cellar with the other two young ladies who have stayed there for three years at this point. One thing that Lily is content with is that she hasn't been assaulted or touched by him yet in contrast to diff erent young ladies. The following section of the book goes into Lewis talking, he is stirred by his entryway thumping open.  The door is opened by police, who request an audience with him, they sit on the couch and let him know they have discovered Summer's phone. The story shifts back to summer, where her time has come and she is in line to be raped ("The Cellar By Natasha Preston I Teen Ink"). She would not like to do this by any stretch of the imagination and simply needed to be back in her little minimal comfortable home with her family and Lewis.  At this time Cops were watching clover and his family, he stressed over that and needed to attempt to keep up with his ordinary day-by-day schedule to keep him and his "blossoms" safe. The cops are drawing near to discovering clover and the young ladies, have doubts and are extremely near it. At the end of the book, clover is captured Lily, Poppy, and Rose are discovered, they are taken to the clinic and in the end, are at long last back with their caring families that they figured they would never see again.

The story is classified as horror fiction due to Clover who is a kidnapper and a killer. Clover leaves the reader on the edge as there are not sure what is likely to happen next. Also, the book is a horror one as it takes energy, persistence, daily fear, and weakness to bring the girls back to reunite with the family. There are subject to emotional torture and they do not know what is likely to happen the following day. The story falls into two subgenres of horror namely psychological and teen horror. Before perusing this book I looked up both of those sub sorts to perceive what they were, and I knew about what they were however in the wake of perusing this book they appeared well and good. What makes this book fall into the horror fiction type is a result of the anticipation, killing, and alarming and terrifying the crowd.

In summary, the book "The Cellar," by Natasha Preston, is a book of horror fiction and the sub-genre of Teen and psychological. The anticipation, pressure, and simple to understand book saves the peruses prepared for more and in any event, bring the genuine feelings of dread of youthful youngsters to life. Numerous fear being taken, assumed to a position that you have never seen, and being compelled to do as an outsider is advising you to do to remain alive. Natasha Preston worked effectively at truly appearing what a horror book is, and this makes it interesting for the readers. The book truly gave me an extraordinary thought on what horror fiction is, and was truly composed with feeling. I feel that when she was composing this book, she probably had incredible motivation. "For the present, I wasn't going to stress. For presently I planned to eat steak with my loved ones and partake in the early evening, and for some time I wouldn't need to claim to be alright." That was the last statement of the book, to me, it truly shows what summer's identity is." For her, it is simply going to set aside an effort to at last get arranged back at home and to have a sense of security once more.
