This assignment will consist of your thoughts, reflections, and analyses of the reading assignments given in class. Each reading assignments will consist of excerpts from different texts. An excerpt is a part, chapter, or section of a book, journal, or magazine article.

For each excerpt in an assignment, you will write a response that demonstrates:

o Acomplete read and summary of the content

o Identification and understanding of the main ideas

© Questioning that reflects what is not clear or understood

o Analysis of the reading through making sense of its meaning or significance on your own terms

o Critical thinking towards the content —deciding what you think or feel and explaining it

o Reaching your own conclusions about the content

For each reading analysis assignment, develop and write an analysis for each excerpt in the form of a complete paragraph. For example, a reading assignment with three excerpts will be three paragraphs. Acomplete paragraph should be at least S complete sentences (not “lines”). A complete sentence is a fully- developed and clearly-expressed idea.

perspective, identifying and explaining how it includes or does not incude, represents of

be analyzed by its relationship to social class, class conflict, class struggle of other factors that have

‘tew of race and racism (perspective, representation/misrepresentation, etc], and how this impacts

comparing it to your own experience, perspective, o personal history.
