Georgia State Health Regulation review assignment

There are many health policies in place that impact our lives every day. There are policies that affect our direct, individual health care; polices that impact financing of health care we receive; and those broader community health policies that impact society as a whole.

To start you should identify a current state health policy of interest. Both of the following links will take you to a list of the Georgia Department of Public Health Regulations

https://dph.georgia.gov/current-dph-regulations

http://rules.sos.state.ga.us/gac/511

Once you have selected a state health regulation, spend some time researching that policy. You will want to do a brief review why the policy is needed, who it benefits and what are the risks of not having the policy. You should include a minimum of three professional sources.

Once you have completed your research, and have your resources in order, you will write a 350 to 500 word summary of the Georgia state health regulation highlighting:

  1. An overview of the policy you selected to review, and why you chose that policy;
  2. Historical information about the need for and development of this policy;
  3. The area of health and population that the policy impacts/affects;
  4. Discussion of the benefits or strengths of this policy;
  5. Discussion of any challenges that this policy poses, and who do these challenges impact; and
  6. Any recommendations for changes/updates/ additions to the policy that you found in your research.
