This activity will enable you to:

Explain the importance of the Haitian Revolution in relation to African American history (CO#1).

The Haitian Revolution was an extremely important event not only in the history of Haiti but also in the history of the Americas and the world. 

Based on what you have read about the Haitian Revolution so far, post a response to the following:

Why do you think this event was so important?

Write a brief note on what you knew about the Haitian Revolution, before you began the readings for this course. Why do you think most of us have never heard of it? Explain your answer.
