Please install the Ubuntu in vmware and take the screenshots as shown in the attached file. This is a very easy task. I tried but I realized there is no version for apple chip m1 only for Intel and I only have Macbook with chipset M1. Rather than that, I should not be paying for this. 
 

VIRTAUAL MACHINE ASSIGNMENT

PREPARE A LINUX VIRTUAL MACHINE

Expected time to install 1-3hours

This exercise will prepare you a Linux virtual machine.

INSTRUCTIONS

1.            Virtual Machine Installation

•             For Windows or Linux users: VMware Player: https://www.vmware.com/products/workstation-player/workstation-player-evaluation.html

Note: Insure you use the non-commercial free version

•             For Mac users: Use VMware Fusion - https://www.vmware.com/products/fusion.html

2.            Download Ubuntu Desktop

•             VMware:

3.            The downloaded file is an ISO image file. Save the file in your home directory, or in your own storage device.

4.            Install and run Ubuntu Linux in a Virtual Machine

•             Launch the VMware player. You will create a new virtual machine.  It will ask you for the iso package to load the iso package

Note: This will take some time.

•             When being asked for a username: please use your real name as “Full Name” and your KSU email id as the “User name”. The name will be displayed in screenshots if required in future assignments

5. BEGIN SUBMISSION TASKS

•             Take screenshots like the following and submit as well as answer the following questions.

1.            Show the login into Ubuntu with your user name so I know the install is working (25 points)

 2.           Take a screenshot showing the new virtual machine desktop (25 points). Examples below

 3.            What is the power or advantages of being able to install Virtual Machines? (25 points)

4.            What type of Virtual Machine is this example most like Hypervisor Type I or II and why? (25 points)
