I Am a Medium (50 points)

Imagine yourself as a medium: not the psychic kind, I see the future of all type, but the artistic definition of a medium. Can be written in first person or more of a research based approach. Feel free to be creative here!

Think about the following to choose from:

How are you made?

What are your inherent capabilities and limitations?

Where do you come from? Are you expensive?

How difficult is it for an artist to aquire you?

How do they get you?

How difficult is it for artists to use you?

Have they achieved varying results from you?

Were you chosen by the artist or were you requested?

Which century were you used in? Feel free to include any other information.

** Include an image which uses your medium not an image of your medium** copy and paste the image into your essay. This is not considered part of the body of the essay.

Required Sources:  2 online scholarly journals, you can use electronic databases from LSC library, or other online scholarly journals. Your textbook does not count as one of them, but you may use it in your paper.

Written Assignment Formatting:

-1.5 pgs, equals to 500-750 words of Single Spaced writing in the body of your essay

-use standard MLA format except for -please single space not double

-times Font, 12 point, single spaced, default margins. 

-name, assignment and date, single spaced, stacked and in the top, left corner.

-be sure to include parenthetical references when necessary, changing a few words in a sentence does not make the idea your own. This applies to information from your textbook, online sources and any other resources you are using.  Failure to include parenthetical references will result in half the available points being deducted.

-Include a works sited page

Watch out for these-Most Common Writing Mistakes:

#1-Using the same words to start paragraphs & sentences, like “the, they, next…”avoid this, use variety for the flow of your essays.

#2-Header/Cover page font size, check standard sizes for your text on formal essays like these.

#3-not using paragraphs! submitting paper with one block of text. Formal essays use multiple paragraphs to organize information.
