In decades past, homosexuality was not discussed publicly and its practice hidden from mainstream society. Due to greater awareness, political activism, and advances in research, we have come to a place in time where we can discuss the matter openly and objectively. Where liberty and freedom are inherent rights, it is imperative that criminal justice professionals maintain an informed posture when dealing with minority sexual persuasions.
