Instruction and Requirement for Group Hands-On Activity #9

Exercise #9-D (p. 264), Apollo Residence Hall network design. Complete and submit the deliverable on p. 264.  (When you are designing your network, follow the steps in Figure 6.1 on p. 163.)

In completing this activity, pretend that you are a consultant for the Apollo Residence Hall network design project, and that the client will consider your rationale for the particular configuration of the design, compared to other design proposals they receive. In other words, you need to provide a convincing rationale for the assumptions in your network design.

Referring to Figure 6-1 on p. 163, we are dealing with Enterprise Edge and Common Carrier- Wide area network (WAN), so your network design for WAN. It should include the Enterprise Edge layer- Wide Area Network Access to be connect Public/Private WAN.

In your network Wide Area Network (WAN) architecture design:                                                                                                                                      - you need to decide what architecture design you want to use and why (RING-Figure 9-2, Star-Figure 9-3, Full Mash Figure 9-4 and Partial MASH Architecture Figure 9-5 ),                                                                              - you must indicate the advantage a disadvantage of Wan network  Architecture you chose                                       - show where the network components are placed and how they are connected together.

Follow best-practice WAN design. Describe how you could improve WAN performance. Information about this is in Ch9. When you choose the components to use, be sure to read the text and look at the cost/benefit of why you are going with higher or lower capacity/throughput components. You can use components from Figure 9-19 or go to the Internet and choose the components that would work better with your design.    

You must answer the deliverables questions based on the above instructions and provide a convincing rationale for your network design and screenshots of the network design.
