Business Ethics Memo

MEMORANDUM

To:                  All Employees

From:              (Name)

Subject:           Business Ethics

Date:               6/16/2021

Albert Einstein once said, "Relativity applies to physics, not ethics." This means that the failure to uphold ethical practices at one time indicates that one cannot uphold ethics at any time. Business ethics is one of the most vital elements for sustainable organizations. they refer to the moral principles that businesses keep and use as their guidelines when engaging in their operations (Bulog & Grancic, 2017). Every organization that wishes to be sustainable will introduce business ethics to promote integrity amongst the employees. When the employees display integrity, then the other stakeholders will trust the organization, consequently leading to the organization's success. Certain ethical principles should matter to all employees, whether in the current organization or if they move to other organizations. These should permanently be embedded at the back of every employee's mind, including honesty, integrity, respect for others, trustworthiness, responsibility, and fairness.

Why are business ethics important to the organization?

Business ethics in the organization will introduce an ethical culture that drives employee behavior (Bassell et al., 2015). when the organization has outlined all the moral processes expected, employees have a straightforward decision-making strategy and understand how they should relate with all stakeholders. This becomes a habit, and later a culture helping drives positive employee behavior. Positive employee behavior is also beneficial because it leads to increased productivity in the organization, which could improve sustainability prospects. There is also the advantage of attracting and retaining the best talents. Most employees will want to work in an organization where they know there are ethical practices and have that reputation in the outside world.

With the above information, the organization expects that all employees uphold the proper business ethics. All employees should constantly remember that the time is always right to do the right thing, as Martin Luther King Junior constantly reminded us.
