Use this page to present your data, drawings, and discussion for each of the three loops in the circuit
studied. You measured the voltage across each circuit element in each loop. Use those data to test Kirchhoff's
loop rule.
Expert Solution
- From the circuit diagram of figure 13-3, we measured the current and voltage across each resistor and recorded it in the table attached. Using the data gathered, we proved the Kirchhoff Loop Rule or also known as KVL (Kirchhoff's Voltage Law).
- Loop and voltage are two things indicated in its name and those are the things that would help us verify the rule.
- First let us consider one loop at a time to easily understand the rule. Loop rule states that the algebraic sum of the voltages in a loop (including the voltage drops across the resistors) is equal to zero.
- From the circuit diagram of the simulator, we can see the red arrows which indicates the flow of current (conventional). We will use that to indicate the signs (+ or -) for the voltages of the resistors and the voltage sources to perform the correct operations.
- After that, considering the signs, get the sum of the measured voltages in the loop and that's it. Do this for the 3 loops.
- From the solution made, we verified the Kirchhoff's loop rule.
