Assessment Number: 001 
Essay Question: Discuss the legal and social policy context associated with one of the issues covered on the Module (i.e. poverty, racial inequality, gender inequality, Learning Disability, Family policy and Child Sexual Exploitation). Give evidence with your answer. 
Word Length: 2,500 words 

4. Assessment criteria 1. For your chosen topic area you should refer to at least two laws and at least two social policy documents which related to the area under discussion. 
2. Your essay must include clear and appropriate definitions of the key terms under discussion. 
3. When you answer your question you must offer evidence to demonstrate the extent of the issue under discussion. 
4. This evidence must be referenced, and there need to be a minimum of six references in your essay overall. 
5. Your essay needs to include and introduction, which signposts the reader to the key issues you will be discussing, and a conclusion, which summarises the points you have made in the essay.
