ADJUS 4 GUIDELINES/PARAMETERS: Each student is assigned a three to five-page term paper discussing one of the following topics: 1. Students may choose among the several cases that have been included in the text- book or a US Supreme Court case of their choosing to completely research and elucidate its impact it has had on the Criminal Justice System. Please include: ? a summary of the facts of the case, including what the case was about and the arguments on both sides, ? the legal issue/question the court was asked to answer, the issue statement begins, “Whether the....”, ? the reasoning of the court for its decision, ? and how the Court’s decision has impacted society. Using headlines is an easy way to format your paper, for example: Facts Issue Court Decision and Reasoning Impact on Society/Conclusion All papers must be at least three complete/full pages, no more than five pages in length. Proper, academic language and writing must be used (see MLA guidelines.) They need to be written in Times New Roman, size 12 font and doubled spaced. Page numbers are to be located on the bottom and in the middle of the page
