M1 Explore and Discuss 3

Original Post: Complete the following "Explore and Discuss" tasks from 6.2, page 360 in the text.

Read through the proof give for the formula

|A∪B|=|A|+|B|−|A∩B|

on page 359 of the textbook. Use a similar argument to prove that

|A∪B∪C|=|A|+|B|+|C|−|A∩B|−|A∩C|−|B∩C|+|A∩B∩C|

Or prove it by following the outline suggested in Exercise 55 on page 367. A Venn diagram may also be helpful.
