KIG1006: Individual Assignment Guidelines

Assignment will account for 10% from the continuous assessment. Please strictly follow the rules below:

WARNING: Copying CAD models from the internet is strictly prohibited, such act is considered plagiarism and you will be deregistered if caught.

The assignment is an individual-based. Each student is compulsory to submit it through spectrum.

Instruction: Design a simple product based on your innovation (apply, combine or improve product functions) that consist of approximately five parts drawings and one assembly drawing.

Step 1: Design parts in 3D model;

Step 2: Produce 2D part drawings, showing the correct way of dimensioning to interpret engineering drawing, showing necessary views to describe the part shape;

Step 3: Produce an assembly drawing with necessary views and balloons matching with part list

Your design must contain the elements:

• Aspect of assembly of parts using clamp, fitting, bolts etc
• A combination shape of straight, curve, holes for the designed parts Submission Instruction:

1. Submit in pdf, filename: “Fulllname_MatrixNo.pdf” at the end of week 12 through spectrum week 12 submission point
2. First page consists of course code and name, session, student’s full name and matrix number 
3. Second page is the assembly drawing and part drawings thereafter 
4. The assignment must not exceed 10 pages, combined in one pdf file

Example: In-car phone holder with charger, Shoe polish machine, Ceiling fan wiper robot, Plant watering robot, Intelligent coinbox, etc.
