In this paper, you will describe a person, object, or event using only empirically verifiable facts. The objective of the paper is to convince your reader to see the person, object, or event in either a positive or negative light while ensuring that your paper remains completely free of any evaluative language. Choose a person, object, or event that you find interesting and that you can readily research. It is better if you choose a topic about which people already have a strong opinion that differs from your own. For instance, most people like chocolate ice cream, but perhaps you hate chocolate ice cream. If so, chocolate ice cream would make a good topic for this paper. After you choose a topic, begin to compile facts about your topic that will help you to show your topic in either a negative or positive light. To show chocolate ice cream in a negative light, for instance, you might look for a medical study that links chocolate ice cream to mad cow disease, or find evidence that an unpopular person such as Richard Nixon ate chocolate ice cream every day. Likewise, if you find a report concluding that chocolate ice cream cures pancreatic cancer, it may be wise to omit those findings from your paper. Either way, you want to provide only empirically verifiable information about chocolate ice cream. At no point should you disclose to your reader your own opinion of chocolate or any other kind of ice cream. In other words, persuade us to dislike chocolate ice cream merely by providing negative information about it that you have strategically organized to maximize persuasive effect.

Your paper should begin with a detailed description of your object or topic. Michael Jordan, a retired basketballer, was born in 1963 and is widely recognized as the greatest NBA player of all time. Having led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships and six times receiving the Most Valuable Player award. According to a new ESPN poll, more than 73 percent of NBA fans still feel Michael Jordan is the greatest player ever. While the majority of people feel Jordan is the greatest NBA player in history, there is concern that, despite his popularity and money, he may be overrated.
Michael Jordan won his championships when the NBA was weak compared to the current league. In 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998, Jordan won six Most Valuable Player honors and led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships. Many people utilize these data to proclaim him the best NBA player in history, but they forget about the league that surrounds him at the time (Smith, 2011). Nearly six expansion teams were introduced to the league just before Jordan's reign began in the 1990s. It is true Michael Jordan defeated a talented Los Angeles Lakers team in the 1991 championship finals. However, Magic Johnson, the team's point guard, was already leaving, and James Worthy was no longer at his best, as he had been in the 1980s (Righini, 2013). In addition, Michael Cooper, who was widely regarded as one of the best defensive players of all time in the 1980s, was no longer at his peak. Also, unlike in the 1980s, this Lakers club did not have a talented Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. This Lakers team was far from the Lakers that dominated the 1980s (Righini, 2013). Jordan's opponent in the 1993 championship game, the Phoenix Suns, was also a good club. Despite the fact that Charles Barkley who played for Phoenix was one of the finest forwards in the league at the time, the Phoenix Suns lacked quality interior defense, making it easier for Jordan's squad to win. Jordan's opponents in the 1990s finals either had defensive troubles or were not as good as they were in the 1980s.
It is also true that a great player will constantly lead his team to new heights. Michael Jordan, on the other hand, could not advance past the first round of the playoffs without Scottie Pippen (Harris, 2020). Jordan's shot-making ability astounded the entire world in the 1980s. Jordan had the best scoring average of all time in his third year in the league, averaging 43 points per game. Despite Jordan's amazing average of 43 points per game over his first three years with the Chicago Bulls, the team did not make the playoffs (Harris, 2020). Jordan was unable to get his club through the first round of the playoffs between 1985 and 1987 (Harris, 2020). It wasn't until Scottie Pippen joined the team that they were able to get past the play-offs. Scottie Pippen was a legendary basketball player. Scottie provided a crucial component to the club that Jordan was unable to provide. Michael is simply another failure without Scottie Pippen (Harris, 2020).
Michael Jordan joined the Washington Wizards after a great career with the Chicago Bulls. The wizards were hoping that having the most decorated player on their team would help them win a major championship. One would think that the best player on the team would at the very least get his club into the playoffs. Jordan's leadership and abilities were not enough to save the Wizards, who failed to enter the playoffs. As a result, it is plausible to claim that Jordan was not the complete player that many people perceive him to be (Swaab, Schaerer, Anicich, Ronay & Galinsky, 2014). His success with the Chicago Bulls was almost certainly due to the advantages he had over other teams. For example, during his time with the Chicago Bulls, the squad was coached by the league's finest manager, Phil Jackson, who led the team to league domination. It's not like the current league, where there are multiple excellent coaches (Swaab et al., 2014). Second, he had the backing of other complete teammates like Scottie Pippen, who praised him enormously. That is why he has never been able to make it in any other squad.
