Conscious and unconscious biases are detrimental to the decision-making process and thus the effective functioning of an organization. It is crucial to identify personal biases as well as psychological traps that affect one’s ability to work with others, evaluate situations, and make decisions.

Using the material on bias and psychological traps in this module, identify and evaluate your personal biases. Then, answer the following:

• Define the specific biases that have created problems for you while in a professional context. Is this conscious or unconscious? Give specific examples.
• Define the psychological traps that create problems for you while in a professional context. Give specific examples.
