Author: Salma Peer Review: Taha I remember learning English "my second language" was almost seemed like impossible. From a background who does not even understand the native the language itself, I had to learn the second language as well. By learning to write and speak it felt like I have opened another door of my life where I can interact with different people and it was amazingly the best experience of my life. At first it was just like an opportunity to talk to someone who does not belong to my side of community and after that there was talking reading writing, doing researches and so on. I remember when I started reading my first book in English that was “The Fault in our Stars” was recommended to me by a dear friend of mine who was aware of my thriving of learning English and I still remember how great that experience was, I was jumbled in words. Trying to make every bit of sense through those words. I felt emotions while reading it and it was certainly a new vibe to felt and it made me more focused. I was beginning me path to learn English as a second language I do not only got help by reading books, I started listening to English music and after that I use to find lyrics of the music on YouTube and I did the practice day and night after that I developed my interest in English movies we used to have HBO on our television cable and I saw a lot of great movies on that channel and after that my Interest took a different side and I became crazy for English seasons I started with “Friends” and now I have no count on how many seasons I have watched up till now Now I am on a track to improve my English skills and make it excellent in all aspects and I believe by only concentrating specifically on this matter and doing a lot of exercise in this module will help me to achieve this goal and I know that it will be challenging but with the help of my instructor the path to this journey will become less challenging and more creative. All the struggle and hard work will pay off. I was not aware of the graduate level writing skills but after starting ISP, I am now well aware of this. I came to know that there are some procedures some ethics to write academically for exam AXES. Earlier I just start with what I had in my mind would start writing about it. Although I will not be joining graduate program like all of you but It will help me in my CSS exams I am pretty sure and I am really looking forward to that day when I will be able to join graduate studies and use this skill. Before starting ISP I used to think that I have been reading, writing and listening in English for almost 15 years of my life. Do I really need this program? Or will it help me? But thankfully all my doubts have been cleared because yes ISP has changed so many things I have developed due to this. I did not knew about the podcast and it was more tough for me as compare to the rest of assignment. I have never in my life done it and it was new and seems difficult but now I can do it. Appreciation to ISP really. Never knew about critique essay and it made think wisely and out of the box.
