Which major moral theory makes the most sense to you, and what criteria did you employ in making that decision?

Introduction

The word moral is a combination of two words moral and theory. The theory is a group of statements that are used to explain the group of concepts and facts. While moral is used to define the certain actions taking place in a theory, these actions can be wrong and right. It helps us in explaining the action in different ways. In short the moral theory of how we decide wrong and right manner. In general, there are almost 10 types of moral theories, which determine in deciding the wrong and right manner of the theory (Dietrich, Franz, and Christian List).  These theories help us in various fields of human life as well.

Specific theory

I like the “virtue theory” because in virtue theory the wrongs and rights of the theory are determined by acting on the virtues according to the traditions and they help us in being a perfect individual. The virtue theory was produced by a Greek philosopher named Aristotle and Aristotle while making this theory was assisted by other Greek philosophers. This theory was created in the 4th century and now these days this theory is known as the creative personality accusation. This theory sense to me because in other theories the right and wrongs are determined by self-interest, God commands, a set of principles, different subjects, rationality, utility, justice, and a set of moral rights (Harrison, Tom, Katy Dineen, and Francisco Moller). Because sometimes finding right and wrongs by your self-interest and other theory can be at fault. But the determination of rights and wrongs by following virtue ethics is more liked because most of the peoples can determine the right and wrong by following virtue ethics. This theory helps us in living according to the traditional rules such as courage, wisdom, temperance, and justice. According to this theory, the life of virtue is the happiest life ever. Aristotle's notion is that human beings had a specific occupation and this occupation helps them to direct the existence of true thriving as human beings. It requires enduring by the uttered of judiciousness and also by acting on the traditional virtues.

Criteria:

There are two criteria because of which I choose this theory is that this theory helps us in distinguishing the individuals from the other individuals who behave perfectly by mistake, first of all, the upright individuals know that they are perfectly conducting themselves. Secondly, upright individuals always behave in a good manner because they know that they have been taught good manners. This is the criteria I observed of the virtue theory and also because of these reasons I like it. In other theories, people behave as they want to or they have principles that do not include goodness but there are other theories also that contain god commands and many more. But this theory has great clarity in it and helps the people who are virtuous in determining the people who are not virtuous. The human virtue as a disposition helps in behaving perfectly and as a connote between boundaries of excess and deficiency, which are juniors. There are no virtuous means in the actions such as adultery and murder. Because of these criteria, I decided against employing this theory.

Conclusion

I concluded that the theory was for the virtuous people, people that live with happiness and they follow the rules of virtue that are given to them. They have traditional rules that help them in every field of life. Many moral theories consist of the many theories almost ten theories that can tell the right and wrongs of the people. But the virtue theory is one of the best theories.
