Social media involves application or websites in which users make, and share content hence increasing their networking.

The theories which explain why people use social media include, go Heidegger's phenomenology, Bourdieu's theory of practice and Gofman's symbolic interactionism. (Akram & Kumar, 2017).

The reason as to why people show unique behaviors in social media channels is because, people aim at getting positive feedback from other social media users and boost self-esteem.

Discuss the social benefits and limitations of each. What human interactions can each of these channels create?

Facebook has social benefits which include, building online brands, building friendships with people, assist people get jobs and increase productivity. One of the limitation of Facebook is addiction which might lead to loss of productivity at work, relationship problems and malware and viruses.

 

Social benefits of Instagram include ability to understand a certain audience better, travel online while viewing scenarios and know people through the pictures. Instagram is associated with high levels of depression and bulling due to body shaming issues.

The use of social media can distract teens from their studies, affect their sleep and dangers of bulling at a very young age.
