Your final review is to create a written "lecture" like his where you select a major topic for California history, offer a major argument or claim about that topic, present 8 key themes for it, and connect those themes to this course. You will produce this is a written PDF. Major topic: this would be something like: religion; race; African Americans in California; women in California; economics, culture; sports; anything where the totality of your themes encompass at least 100 years of California history. Themes: Select 8 of them and have them as a group range over a time period of at least 100 years. (so theme 1 can start in 1700 and by theme 8 you need to be at least to 1800; feel free to go longer than 100 years if you like) For each theme, locate some kind of visual image, preferably one from the time period you are discussing (so if you are discussing Billy Graham in the 1940s, then use a photograph of him from Los Angeles in the 1940s). For each theme, provide a minimum of one paragraph of writing where you connect the theme to course materials and how they work together to make points about your overall topic.
