Overview

Read and view carefully this week’s assigned readings and videos, which expound upon the basic principles of chaplain ministry and explore the various types of chaplaincy ministries. Note the basic requirements for each type of chaplaincy.  Are there any differences?  What makes them different, if anything?

Then write a 5-page paper explaining the various types of chaplaincy, to include:

• Military Chaplaincy
• Health-care Chaplaincy
• Workplace Chaplaincy
• Correctional and Prison Chaplaincy
• Sports Chaplaincy
• First Responder Chaplaincy
• College Campus Chaplaincy

The paper should include brief insights of the distinctives of each type of chaplaincy that are taken from assigned videos and textbook.  Don’t get too deep for any type of chaplaincy.  Pay particular attention to covering all types, not just military or hospital and then saying little about the others. 

This assignment is designed to prepare you to select 1 particular chaplaincy type on which to focus Research Papers 3 – 5.

The paper must contain footnotes referencing both reading and video for each type of chaplaincy (See Rubric).

The paper must be accomplished in Turabian footnote citation style.

The paper must follow the structure of a standard academic essay (Title page, Contents Page, Introduction, Body, Conclusion, Bibliography). Title Page, Contents Page and Bibliography do not count in the page total.
