1) First, post your original Research Question from your Week One Proposal.

My original Research question is: “Are HR managers are responsible for preserving cultural diversity?”.

2. What feedback did you receive on it from your instructor and others? What did you find helpful from this feedback?

Feedback that I received was that I picked an excellent topic for my choice. I also was informed that my research needs to answer my research question completely.

3. Using your reading this week and the feedback you received, post a refined draft of your Research Question.

For right now, unless told otherwise, my research question will remain mostly around the same. I have revised it to: “How are HR managers responsible for preserving cultural diversity?”

4. Why is this a better question? How is it argumentative? What different views are there on this topic? What stance are you likely to take?

This question is better because it allows me to answer it with three strong supporting elements. It is argumentative. It can be argued that HR managers are not responsible for ensuring cultural diversity remains in the workplace. Different views are that all managers in the company are responsible for preserving diversity. The stance that I take is that I plan on explaining the ways that HR managers are solely responsible for preserving diversity.

5. What is your answer to your Research Question? Write a single sentence that fully answers it. This will be a revised draft of your thesis statement.

Human Resource Managers are responsible for preserving cultural diversity in the workplace through their hiring tactics, training methods, and by driving innovation.

6. Next, conduct a search using Keiser’s e-Library databases. Post an APA citation to one source you located through Keiser’s e-Library.

Ng, E. S., & Sears, G. J. (2020). Walking the Talk on Diversity: CEO Beliefs, Moral Values, and the Implementation of Workplace Diversity Practices. Journal of Business Ethics, 164(3).

7. Provide a summary of the source. For instance, what does it say? What are its findings? Why is it relevant in the field?

This source is relevant in this field as it addresses how HR managers roles and priorities differ from that of a CEO. They are responsible for addressing many internal organizational demands and policies that comply with EEO and AA laws. HR managers play a unique role in implementing diversity, and influence CEOS in the understanding of diversity initiatives they set out with the employees. When the HR managers’ approach is that of one that is more engaging it can boost the diversity more. As an HR manager, it is important they act as a role model for behaviors that are required for change to take place. When HR managers do not model the correct behaviors, it trickles down and implements poorly perceived diversity practices to the employees. HR managers should ensure they are making diverse hiring decisions and even directly begin from orientation the implementation of those diversity practices (Ng & Sears, 2020).

8. Provide an application of the source. How does this source help you answer your Research Question? Where specifically might you use this source in your actual paper?

This source helps me answer my research question as it provides insight on how HR managers can preserve diversity in the workforce. I plan on using this source to show that as an HR manager, it is their responsibility to model correct behaviors, influence the CEO, and make diverse hiring decisions. As employees enter their first day of employment, this is when the diversity teaching will begin with the HR. This fast approach should ensure that no employee misses an opportunity to learn about cultural diversity and what they can do to make a difference (Ng & Sears, 2020).
