Explain the development of American Law and the court system.

American Law is derived from several sources and is comprised of federal law – the laws of the United States, and the laws of the 50 states. Your assignment:

(1) Describe the various sources of American laws. For each source, provide examples of laws that arise from that source.

(2) Explain the historical background of the American Legal System, providing specific examples, and

(3)  Explain the roles of the federal and state Court systems in the application of American Law.
