Now that you have decided that a career in the criminal justice field is your focus, there are several matters to consider. Going through the hiring process to join a criminal justice agency requires you to be very aware of your past, present, and future. There are several matters to consider such as your background check, credit history, ten-year driving history, and meeting the minimum educational and training benchmarks just to name a few.

Part I:

Answer each of the questions listed below. Support your viewpoints from your readings and other appropriate outside sources. Provide a detailed response of how you would fare if you were applying to join a criminal justice agency at this moment:

• What information does a background check yield about a candidate?
• What is the significance of running a candidate’s credit history?
• Why is running a ten-year driving history vital in selecting a candidate that will use a vehicle in the course of their duties?
• How do educational achievements and previous training assist administrators in hiring criminal justice professionals?
