Clitellum is a glandular non segmented part generally present in earthworms and leeches.

Main Functions of Clitellum: 1. During Copulation, the clitellum secretes a fluied that keeps the worms paired while the sperms are exchanged. 2. After copulation the clitellum secretes a substance by which a cocoon is formed. The cocoon receives both the eggs and the sperm and fertilization occurs in the cocoon itself.
