As there is in all of the Hitchcock movies we've watched, there are many themes in "Psycho." Pick the one you consider to be over-all pervading theme - and why? Use at least two scenes from the film to justify your answer.

One theme that stands out the most in this movie, is the dominate/controlling mother figure. Norman Bates constantly reports back to his "mother," and she gives him commands. She sits up in the house watching over him. In the end, we find that they are so in sync, that they are the same person.
