Answer:

Information and data is essential in the day to day operation of organizations today.

Step-by-step explanation

1. There are three kinds of data being tracked by organizations according to Hebda, Hunter and Czar (2019). These kinds of data include: 1. Descriptive data. This is the kind of data that provides simple and easy to understand summaries concerning the measured and sampled data. 2. Predictive data. This is data that is obtained in prediction of future outcomes by the use of algorithms and machine techniques and methods to study historical data that is available. 3. Prescriptive data. Is the kind of data that is used by businesses to make better decisions after technology has been used to analyze raw data. Prescriptive data is obtained after raw data has been analyzed.

2. Specific to the practice of nursing, "big data" is a type of data being tracked by organizations. When we talk about big data, we are referring to datasets whose scopes are past the ability of usual database software tools to capture, pile, manage, and analyze. The need to manage big data has resulted into the migration from paper based systems to Electronic health record system. This is because the Electronic health records support efficient processes for delivery of health services and provide immediate access to health records of people all over.

3. The reason as to why big data is important to track is that this big data contains information that is essential to the operation of the health sector. Without this data, the health sector will be incapacitated. This is because this data contains information on areas such as the medical history of the patients, the management of healthcare organizations and the expectations of the public and the state from the healthcare sector.

4. There are various organizations tracking healthcare data. These organizations include laboratories and schools. Laboratories track big data because they need to understand the development of patients with certain conditions on order for them to come up with the appropriate treatments. They also track this data so as to monitor the conditions that pose a threat to the health of the citizens and come up with preventive measure. Schools on the other hand, track this data to facilitate their learning process and also understand the emerging trends in healthcare.

There are ethical concerns on the tracking of data. One of the ethical concerns is on privacy and confidentiality. Health records are expected to be private and confidential that only the patient and relevant physician should know. With the tracking of the "big data", the right to privacy and confidentiality of data is infringed. For instance, if a patient has cancer, and the laboratories are allowed to track data on the patient in the name of monitoring the patients to come up with a cure, then the ethics of the privacy of the data have been infringed.
