ASCI 512 1.6 Tiger Report

As a graduate student, it is important to stay current by reading periodicals and journals on current topics in the aerospace field. You will need to do one Tiger Report during this term on a topic pertaining to current news from a suggested topic posted by your instructor in the weekly Tiger Report announcement or on a topic that you select that is approved by the instructor.

A Tiger Report is a quick reaction and a small project that examines a specific topic in detail, often related to a technical incident. This activity should be a fast turnaround report in a short format that is similar to an executive summary for decision-makers. In this course, you can reserve a topic by posting your interest in the Tiger Report discussion forum and then posting the report within two weeks. The length of the report should be 3 to 5 pages with references; concise and on-topic is the key – not a mini research paper. Less is more! First-come, first-served on topics.

The Tiger Report has four major parts:

1. Statement of problem or issue
2. Alternate solutions or points of view for the problem
3. Analysis of the pertinent data, literature, or theories
4. Your recommendation for action and the reasons why
