Professional organizations, colleges, and universities often provide opportunities for researchers, including undergraduate students, to present the results of their research. Some even offer stipends to cover travel expenses for undergraduates.

According to the American Psychological Association, some of the benefits of presenting your research are (but not limited to): contributing to and learning about advances in your area of study, learning how to talk about your data, and meeting other researchers (and possible future positions) in your field!

For this discussion activity, conduct an Internet search on “undergraduate research conferences” or a similar term. Find an interesting undergraduate research conference or event that you might like to attend, and post a short description of that conference or event. Be unique – don't post about a conference or event that another student has already shared. Describe how your research interests fit with your chosen conference.

Post your initial response by the third day of the module week. Be sure to address all of the required elements listed thoroughly. All posts should be free of spelling and grammar mistakes. 

Return at least once later in the module week to review two or more of your classmates' initial post. Provide feedback to a classmate that has not received any. Once all classmates have received feedback, you may provide additional comments to others.
