The cross-section of a concrete dam is shown below. The unit weights of concrete and water are 150 lb/ft^3 and 62.4 lb/ft^3, respectively. Consider a 1-foot thick section of the dam. and determine (a) the magnitude of the resultant of the reaction forces exerted by the ground on the base AB of the dam, and (b) the magnitude of the resultant of the pressure forces exerted by the water on the face BC of the dam.
