Week 1 Library Assignment: Global Warming

This is the first of four library assignments where you will develop a term paper that discuss global warming, also known as climate change. Climate change is one of the biggest challenges that face humans on planet Earth. Carbon dioxide and other “greenhouse gases” including methane and nitrous oxide that are released when we burn fossil fuels for example, cause heat to be trapped in the atmosphere surrounding Earth. A rapid rise in greenhouse gases is changing the climate faster than many living organisms may be able to adapt. (National Geographic, 2011)
