The large producers try to acquire complete market share by reducing the prices of their products. When they reduce the prices of their products, the small producers suffer losses and are made to leave the market. A situation of price war benefits those who have large production capacities. Hence, large producers form monopolies in the market.

The formation of monopolies has a negative impact on the human world. Monopolies create inefficiencies in the market. Monopolists increase the prices of the products to increase their profits, which results in the loss of welfare of low-income consumers. Also, the quality of the goods sold in monopoly decreases as monopolies do not face any competition.
