Electron affinity is the energy that is released when an electron is added to a neutral atom in the gaseous state to form a negative ion.

As we go along a period from left to right the electron affinity increases. As we go down the group the electron affinity decreases.

The electron affinity is found to be > zero for noble elements as they have already octet configuration which is the stable one and doesn't want to become an ion as it will become unstable.

The order is

Neon > Sodium > Arsenic > Oxygen > Iodine

From most positive to most negative.
