Different types of sampling methods
Some of the sampling options for researchers include: convenience, random, stratified, systematic, and voluntary samples.
Convenience samples are, well convenient for researchers. Participants are easily accessible and available for the research. Random samples occur when participants are randomly sampled from the large population set. A stratified sample requires researchers to select participants from two unrelated subsects or sub populations of a larger population group. With a systematic sample, participants are chosen in a systematic way. With this sample set, researchers might use number charts or a similar system to randomly choose participants. Voluntary samples make up participants who volunteer to partake in the survey or study.
