What services are finance companies able to offer consumers and businesses that banks do not offer?

One of the services that a financial company can provide is a credit to individuals and firms with poor credit histories. Other financial institutions and banks do not offer credit to people with poor credit histories because the risk of loss involved is higher than the profits to be generated. However, the finance companies only require an individual to produce assets as collateral and then issue loans to poor or negative credit histories.

Another service is to provide or avail the purchase of products to customers through loans. The finance companies often have a contract with several retailers to sell them products such as appliances and electronics at discount prices or sell them to customers on loan through the finance company. Banks do not offer services of purchasing items through them on credit.
