Instructions: Respond to these questions, using quotes as directed. These questions apply to the entire play, both acts.

1. On Page 50 of the play, Ana says, “It’s not that I don’t iron fast enough, it’s that whenever | finish ironing a dress I stop for a minute to really look at it.” What does this moment reveal about Ana’s character? How do you know? You'll want to look at this entire page for your answer. There is a lot we learn about Ana, here.

2. From Act I to Act II, the women change their perspective about their weight. How do they do this? What's the difference between their views on their weight at the beginning of the play versus the end? Use at least three quotes in your answer to show how the women change their points of view on their weight.

3. What happens to El Tormento at the end of the play? How do you know? What does this suggest about the women’s feelings at the start of the play? What does it say about their fears? Use at least one quote in your answer.

4. Look at Ana’s monologue on the last page of the play. What does Ana learn, here? What did she hope to teach the women? What did they teach her? Do you think the women taught her an effective lesson? Why or why not?
