Compassion was found in Neanderthals and I find that to be  beyond fascinating. According to many videos I saw and Dr. Johansens lecture this week, bones in Shanidar Cave, Iraq had trauma to the eye, smashed right arm and amputation as well. Someone must have cared for him, fed him and helped him because clearly he got better. I find this so exciting because even back then there was compassion. Something I feel we need more of today, especially with everything going on in the world. Care of others is crucial to ones own happiness, for it is doing for others we find true joy and fulfillment. To think that back then neanderthals knew this to be true is astonishing to me. Over the weekend my husband and I watched a documentary called, Monkey kingdom and it talked of a monkey named, Maya. I realize monkeys are different than Neanderthals, however it showed very little compassion for Maya, whose  baby was stolen from her because she was on the bottom of the hierarchy. Imagine if they had compassion within their group? Wouldn't it have been such a wonderful place to live? I think so, don't you? I feel so lucky there are so many ways for one to find out more information about any subject on line, wish they had that back when I was in college the first time. Have a great week.
