Exam Instructions

• WARNING: You will need to upload an image of your work for this exam, just as you have for your earlier assessments and assignments. This exam is in the form of a pdf, so please make sure you can open pdfs on your computer. Ideally, you should print all pages of the exam, write out your answers, scan your work, and upload it to this assignment. If you do not have access to a printer, carefully read the other options below under "Submitting Your Exam." See instructions below for uploading your work.
• This exam is worth 100 points. 
• This exam will become available on Monday of finals week and must be submitted no later than 11:59pm on Thursday of finals week, at which time this task will be closed and locked.

Submitting Your Exam

• The recommended method for submitting the final examination is to print the exam, take the exam following the instructions and writing your answers directly in the spaces provided in the exam packet, and then scan or upload images of your exam packet and answers to Canvas.
• Alternatively, if you do not have access to a printer, you may view the exam packet in Canvas and write your answers on separate pieces of paper. Please select this option only if you do not have access to a printer, and follow all other standards for this closed-note, closed-book test if you view the exam packet on a computer.
• If you do not have access to a conventional paper scanner, below are instructions for how to scan and upload an image of your exam using alternative methods:

• To get a high-quality scan, use a scanning app to scan your handwritten homework assignment, and upload your scanned document. Here are some resources to help you get started:

  • Get a clear scan that is automatically cropped and formatted into multi-page PDF files by installing a scanning app on your phone. Here are some recommended free apps:
    • Genius Scan (Links to an external site.) (available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices). Find it at the Apple Store (Links to an external site.) or Google Play.  (Links to an external site.)
    • Microsoft Office Lens (Links to an external site.) (available for iPhone, iPad and Android). Find the app at the Apple Store or Google Play.
    • CamScanner (Links to an external site.) (available for iPhone and Android). This app has the most features, and the basic package is free. However, there are subscription options available if you want to pay for the more advanced features. Find this app at the Apple Store or Google Play.
    • Scanner Pro (Links to an external site.) (available for iPhone and iPad only). 
  • If you do not have a smartphone for scanning homework, please scan your homework as a PDF at your local library, retail print shop, or home scanner, or take screenshots of your work and submit those.

Final Examination

• Before opening the Final Examination file, review the sample cover sheet thoroughly since the same instructions apply to the exam.
  • Do not open this exam until you are ready to sit for the exam and complete it following the instructions. You have two hours (120 minutes) to complete this exam once you begin. When you are ready, open the exam here: Final Examination
