1. You are the ‘Camp Nurse’ at a summer camp. A 10 y/o child comes into your office as a result of an adverse / allergic response to a bee sting. How would/could you obtain medical information from a child?

2. How would you physically assess this 10 y/o child who is frightened, crying, & non-compliant (in essence … acting like a normal 10 y/o)? What would your physical assessment entail?

3. The bee sting is at the level of the lower lip. What is occurring with respect to the inflammatory response (at the cellular level)? What is the child in potential danger of?

4. How would you medically manage the acute inflammatory response & what interventions would you (as the Camp Nurse) employ to ensure the safety of your patient?
