Student notes: My part is on Senegal in reference to the dustin under group 1 (Governance and Leadership is a critical component of a Health system. Give examples of good/bad governance. Discuss by giving examples how good governance has enhanced the building of a country’s health system). I posted below the grading parameter. essentially no HC system, no structure & no plan that has been implemented. The HC facilities that exist are inadequate & left to NGOs & charity clinics to provide what they can
public & teaching hospitals in terrible condition & have been abandoned by those running the country (government, UN, USAID & other country donors).

public expenditure for health is low w/ heavy reliance on international funding
