Discussion 1: The arrangement that the employees make with their managers or employers to work from home or other remote places from wherever they want instead of going to office every day and this is telecommuting. Despite of the growth of telecommuting, still some of the companies want their employees to come to office and work. The Employer can prevail major benefits from telecommuting. Telecommuting provides alternative work space to everyone working in the company. The employees have started to like telecommuting and the level of flexibility has changed in the offices. So, offices might change in the following ways: Design and infrastructure of the office will not be a standard: As employees will come to work in office for a smaller number of days or according to the days assigned to them so there will be no need of giving them specific cabins and seats. The employees are free to get seated to do their work in the office. This will save the money for the manager or employer. (Foroughi, 2019) Mixing Furniture: Every employee does not want a chair and a desk to work on like some employee might feel comfortable working on a sofa, So offices are mixing the furniture. This may also allow employees to work in their comfort zone and in silence as well. Less space taken by the conference rooms: Offices prefer to make small conference rooms that may accommodate less staff ( 5 to 6 employees ). Employees has o come office for only face to face meetings or for presenting some presentation. Smaller investments for smaller offices: When lesser number of people will start to come to the office then less space will be required to accommodate them. This will lead to invest less in making the infrastructure of the office. And less resources like water, electricity will be used that will benefit the environment as well. (DeCarlo, 2019) The offices in the coming years will change because: Most of the offices in the world has permitted the employees for telecommuting. Telecommuting directly and indirectly helps in the growth of everyone working the company whether it is the employer or employee. (Sammi Caramela, 2018) Working from remote locations may help the employee to complete their work stress free environment. So, we might see lesser number of employees rushing to the office every day. Basically it means working from home or away from the organization. When you telecommute, you work outside of the organization’s brick- and- mortar location and usually technology is used to help the employees to work on their duties and tasks and they can easily connect with the employer. The digital revolution has changed the way today’s work and employment are done. Through the development and advancement of the technology through the form of telecommuting and use of mobile work arrangements have improved and changed the way employees work in the organization (Ettema, D., 2010). I agree with the advancement of the technology that in the ten years to come the way forward would have totally changed among many more organizations where working will be simply easy since the manager needs not to gen in contact with the employees but in turn they operate and manage the employees through the use of technology. In many organizations where they involve jobs that are done only by the use of the computer and mobile phones, the organization can tend to take the telecommuting way of working. For employees that are telecommuter it is important as an organization to a project management system and collaboration tools that will allow them to work from anywhere with a reliable connection to the organization (Dutcher, E, G., 2012). I think the offices in the next generation will not exist and this will be a result of the advancement of the technology that has developed in a large number. Technology will allow employers and employees to communicate and also work from everywhere. Telecommuting has helped in reducing congestion in the organization and this helps in improving health of the employers and employees in general (Bloom, N., 2015).
