After reviewing the requirements and guidelines for your research paper located in the "Course Resources" section

Statistics

After reviewing the requirements and guidelines for your research paper located in the "Course Resources" section.  Please discuss your topic selection here.  Most students select a topic related to their employment, however, you can research any area of interest to you.

Here you will state your "topic" of choice so that I may approve, it or give clarity on how to approach your topic prior to moving forward with your paper.  Try not to make your selection too broad in scope.  In addition to sharing your topic, please include a brief outline that clarifies the requirements given in the guidelines.  Your discussion should include the following:

I.  Clear topic of choice and what you will infer from it.  (Please research the terms: Descriptive and Inferential statistics, your paper will have both in it)

II.  At least 3 statistical concept learned that will be used in your research paper.

III.  What ethical considerations will be discussed within your paper?

IV.  What will your conclusion "infer"?

You want to make sure that you can incorporate some of the statistical concepts you have learned, such as "averages", in your paper you may then discuss the "average" of something and possible include a bar graph or pie chart.  Charts and graphs are welcome and suggested.  Most students lose points for failure to discuss the "ethical" aspects of your topic.  For example, what are the ethical issues behind using false statistics to mislead someone?  I will challenge any topic with, "what are you trying to conclude or infer?", don't just discuss random statistics of a subject.  There is no word requirement length for this discussion, be brief but with detail.  There are two "example" research papers in the "Course Research" section to review.  Please reply to 3 classmates with ideas to help them with their topic for full credit!
