You will be writing a body-paragraph essay (just one body paragraph -- it will be a lengthy, substantive paragraph) telling your classmates as emerging academic writers your view on a college liberal arts education -- Are too many people going to college?
?You must integrate at least one passage (quote) from Murray's article and one from Rose's chapter. In addition, you are expected to fully converse with these two authors by summarizing their main ideas, using correct in-text citation and strong signal phrases and signal verbs, and stating and elaborating why you agree and/or disagree. Please remember for this writing activity you will be required to follow the body-paragraph template to practice some important rhetorical moves that academic writers make.  It should be a super-size body paragraph that is at least a full page. Many students in the past wrote a page and a half to two pages for their body paragraph essay. If it is this long you can break it into two smaller body paragraphs. (The first body paragraph you can focus on Murray and the second body paragraph you can focus on Rose, if you want to divide it into two smaller paragraphs.)
