Write a 1250 words paper on the topic How Has the U.S Immigration Policy Affected Neighboring Countries. The population and cultural effects that immigration has in the system are what compels the introduction of the policy to regulate the influx of people in the state. These policies, as a result, have a direct effect on the neighboring countries that these immigrants come from like China Cuba Mexico Europe.

Immigration policy has three dimensions which cause controversy. The political, social, and economic, these dimensions have controversy regarding ethnicity, economic benefit, and criminal activities. Ethnicity, crime, and settlement pattern poses a great challenge to the federal government and therefore the need to regulate the movement of people into the states. The refugees and terrorism concepts have been the ground upon which conflicting policies are based which have an impact on international relations with other countries. International relations are guided by the policy such that if the policy is too strict the states will have a negative attitude towards the other (Snidal 2009). On the other hand, if the policy is not strict will allow positive relationships that allow people to migrate and settle in the new areas.&nbsp.

The history of immigration in the United State is viewed from four perspectives: during the colonial period, the mid 19th century, the start of the 20th century, and the post-1965. In each period there were distinct groups, races, and ethnicities in the United States. These groups included English people who migrated during the colonial error. The mid 19th century saw mainly the influx from northern Europe and the 20th century mainly from southern and eastern Europe and mostly from Latin American and Asia. The immigration policy traces its origin in the history of immigration. There have been policies to allow people to enter the state due as they interact with each other. The interaction leads to social integration among the different ethnic groups and they become naturally members of the United State.
