Organization

For this CAP, your will conduct an analysis of StarFleet. Your assessment will be based on observations of the operations of selected StarFleet vessels. To conduct these observations, you must watch selected episodes of StarTrek: The Next Generation and StarTrek Voyager as directed in the course modules for weeks earlier in the semester. You can find all identified episodes through Amazon Prime or Netflix (subscription fees will apply). All CAP assignments will be based on your assessment of material posted in video form as well as any associated links.

CAP Components

To construct a successful Competency Application Portfolio, you will be required to prepare the following:

Competency Application Field Notes logs noting:

Date(s) of observations(for this field use the date(s) that you watched the episode(s)

Setting(you only need to include the name of the episode in this field.)

Time Log(include the time you spend watching the episode, conducting additional research and interpreting your observations)

Observations(describe the activities in the episode that support your interpretation of the competencies reflected or that need to be developed in that scenario – NOTE that the amount of time spent on observations will automatically populate based on the information entered into the time log. Your total observation hours for a CAP project should be between12 – 15 hours per course.)

Competencies– (select the competencies addressed by each observation – either because they were present or lacking. You can only identify one competency per domain for each row of observations. To assign more competencies to an observation, enter them on a separate row and refer to the observation field by either merging cells or noting “refer to observation above”)

Self Reflection Assessment (what you learned from the exercise that you would apply to your own leadership development plan) (1 – 2 pages)

Conclusion (summary of the paper) (1 page)

Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.

APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according toAPA (6thEdition) style and formatting(Links to an external site.).Papers that are not properly formatted will be subject to up deductions of up to 10 points.

Number of resources: No minimum, just cite sources used.

Length of paper: 10 – 14 typed double-spaced pages.

Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
